Westminster Presbyterian Church is blessed with one
of the best church libraries in the city. The Lowe Library has an
outstanding collection of religious and theological books, as well
as books on social issues, self-help, fiction, and biography. A
small collection of religious periodicals, audiotapes of
Westminster sermons and Town Hall Forums, religious videos,
atlases, and reference materials are also available to the
congregation.
The library, located on the main level of the church next to the
office, is a wonderful place for quiet reading and study at any
time during the week.
The Childrens Library,
adjoining the Lowe Library, offers a broad variety of literature
and videos for children and young adults, as well as a collection
of parenting resources.
A card catalog on the windowsill in the Lowe
Library allows patrons to locate materials in both
collections. Both libraries are open during regular
church office hours and are staffed by volunteers on Sunday
mornings. For assistance in finding materials in either library,
contact librarian Barbara
Mauk at the church office, 612.332.3421.
If you have some suggestions for specific books or subject
areas you would like to see added to the collection please send
an email with your suggestion.
If you are interested in reading and learning more about the
topics covered in recent Town Hall Forum talks please look at the
resources pulled together by the Minneapolis Public Library.
If you have time or talents to share we have a variety of
long- and short-term projects available. We would like to have
more of an active presence, that is volunteers, in the
Children's Library on Sunday mornings. We could also use someone to
help out on weekday mornings shelving books and doing small
projects. If this sounds like a ministry you would be
interested in, please call the church office,
612.332.3421.
