On Pentecost Sunday, May 11 Westminster
will receive the Global Offering. This offering provides support to
our ongoing partnerships in Brazil, Cameroon, and Cuba as well as
the medical mission carried out among the Masai in Kenya by John
and Anne Murray.
On Sunday, May 18 Westminster is fulfilling
its commitment to honor its heritage by renewing and restoring its
historic building as part of the recently completed 150th
Anniversary Campaign. Several major projects will be dedicated: a
restored Chapel with a new organ, a Courtyard with trees and
improved building access, a Memorial Garden including a Columbarium and
Memorial Wall where loved ones can be interred or commemorated, a
History and Learning Center with state-of-the-art education
facilities and archives, improved exterior landscaping, and
lighting, two new roofs and extensive exterior stone repair. On May
18, before, during, and after worship there will be
activities celebrating the completion of this extensive work.
Over 2000 pastors are already registered from all
denominations, from all 50 states, D.C., Canada, and several other
countries (Australia, Bahamas, South Africa, UK)! Worship and
workshops will be held at Westminster and Central Lutheran
Church. Visit the Festival of Homiletics website for more
information and to register. Volunteers are needed for a variety of
tasks from May 20-23. If you'd like to help, contact Melanie
McCall, email or
